New man at the Development Squad helm
Tuffley Rovers are pleased to confirm the appointment of Shaun Norville as the new Development Squad manager. Shaun joins after a long spell at Newent Town where he had been their Development Squad manager for 4 years and spent 11 years in a variety of roles.
His appointment was confirmed by Rovers’ Head of Football Development, who was delighted with the appointment to the role that was vacant following Dave Cornock’s decision to step down as manager in June.
“Shaun comes with a wealth of knowledge at this level of football. I am really pleased with his appointment and wish him every success. I know he looks forward to working with new and existing players, as well as the other coaches and managers at the club. I hope everyone, including our supporters, will join me in welcoming him to the club”.
Having taken up the role, Norville expressed how pleased he was to be appointed. “I’m delighted to become the next manager of the Tuffley Rovers Development Squad”, he said. “Those who’ve held the role previously have done a great job and helped put Tuffley in a great position. The club has impressed me with their ambition and my journey with them starts now.”
Blackburn also took the opportunity to acknowledge Cornock’s contribution.
“Dave will be a hard act to follow. He developed a really strong unit and it is testament to the work he put in that we now see several of his squad over the past three seasons now holding a regular place in the first team squad, alongside those who are not playing Hellenic League football at other clubs”.
